Paradise by the Sea
Although the seaside township of Apollo Bay is a major tourist destination along Victoria's Great Ocean Road, it has retained all the appeal of an unspoilt seaside haven. The long stretching white beaches of Apollo Bay are breathtaking sight at any time of the year.
Here the days just roll into each other, relaxing days filled with swimming, fishing, bushwalking and exploring the magnificent surroundings.
Apollo Bay is located midway long the Great Ocean Road and offers the perfect base for exploring the Otway National Park, Surfcoast, Shipwreck Coast and the newly constructed Great Ocean Walk a 90km coastal walk stretching between Apollo Bay and Princetown.
Eating Out and Shopping in Apollo Bay
Apollo Bay has preserved everything that is natural and wonderful about a beach holiday, but you also have access to some excellent restaurants, cafes and good shopping.

This includes a busy seaside market which attracts people from all around the area every Saturday morning (weather permitting) and the Fisherman's Co-operative at the harbour, where you are assured of catching some fresh fish (or perhaps a cray in season).
Apollo Bay offers a fruit and vegetable shop, butcher, newsagency, supermarket, clothes shops, shoe shop, surf fishing shops, hardware stores, banks and gift shops.
Entertainment for Everyone
Art and music flourish in this idyllic coastal community. Amazing wooden sculptures of sea animals are a distinctive feature of the Apollo Bay foreshore and a wonderful celebration of diverse musical styles is enjoyed by thousands of visitors and locals at the Apollo Bay Music Festival every April.
A local craft and fresh produce market is held every Saturday morning (weather permitting) on the foreshore opposite the main shops in Apollo Bay. The market generally commences at 9am and finishes up at about 1-2pm.
Apollo Bay hosts two Hotels and most Saturday nights (not as much in winter) there is live entertainment playing. During school holidays the local Mechanic Hall also doubles up as a cinema playing the latest releases.
